Aurora, IL November 7, 2018

In Saturday’s opening group play, the 04 girls defeated a physical Lockport Maroon team 2-0, followed by a gritty 1-0 win against the CBSC Flash. On Sunday morning they crushed a desperate Missouri Panathinakois Green team 5-0 successfully clinching their group!

In the Championship match the 2004 Premier girls met one of their IWSL A level division rivals Tinley-Frankfort Force, who previously beat them earlier this fall in league play. The TC girls were poised and ready for the rematch starting of the game with a great surge of energy setting up Sophia “Sett” T. to hit a low whipping cracker into the back of the net. The 2nd half opened with howling winds directly in Team Chicago’s face, but that didn’t deter their drive to continue dominating possession which led to a corner kick. The set play was perfectly executed to the back post where an aggressively attacking Kylee M. placed a beautiful volley making it 2-0. The Force girls battled back gaining some momentum which was quickly snuffed out by a TC counter attack where Kaidence H. whacked a thundering near post shot making it 3-0. When the final whistle blew TC’s defensive team and GK Maggie L. pitched a perfect weekend shut out as the TC girls scored 11 goals allowing 0 against.

Coach Frederick said, “This 04 team has battled adversity all season and they have learned how to work together as a team to find success! Their commitment to team work and passing coupled with strategic vision combined with the will to win shined brightly this weekend! I’m very proud of their growth through the fall season and their hard work and efforts were justly rewarded with a Championship win!!” He also added “A special thanks to the 05 Elite girls who joined us in STL to guest play!

This was just another GREAT example and showing of Team Chicago club commitment and support!”

Brazilian Touch – Futsal Training

Futsal is an indoor version of soccer. Its name is derived from the Portuguese; futebol de salao and the Spanish; futbol sala/de salon, which can be translated as “indoor soccer”.

Soccer greats such as Kaka, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Marta and Messi grew up playing Futsal, and credit it with developing their incredible skills. The game is played five-a-side on a basketball-size court, with a small, low-bounce ball. This rapid-paced game demands lightning-fast reflexes, quick decision-making and pin-point passing. Futsal will improve the game and ability of any soccer player through its intense pace and rapid execution. Whether the player’s aim is to increase skills, advance to a higher level in their club, make the High School team, or attain a goal even beyond that, our Brazilian Touch – Futsal program is the perfect complement to the regular club training sessions.

In the second half Team Chicago came back more aggressive and tied the game in the 10th minute. After that, it became another battle offense vs defense for the rest of the game ending 1-1. With the tie, they went to PK’s with Team Chicago Goalkeeper Anna P. stopping two PK’s, Zara S. and Abigail T. made their PK’s giving TC Academy 2005 Select the first place.
